My Travel Guides

Right, it has been duly noted that I don’t really talk about my experiences travelling around the world. I should. It was brilliant.

So, I’ve decided to write a few ‘Jed guides’ to the places that I went. These are by no means actual guides, but more a sort of review of my experiences and (hopefully) tips of a few places to visit that altered my perceptions.

I’d like some input from you lot though – seeing as it’ll be you that are reading the guides – what format, style, tone etc? I don’t really want to simply write a review with links in it. That’s not really the essence of what I’m about.

At the moment, I’m toying with tying loads of Flickr photos, Facebook comments and quotes together as a sort of collage of thought – what do you think?

Excellent work Michael (aside from the Lonely Jed suggestion, ;) ).

I'm definitely going to be piling in the photos, we took over 1,700 so by playing the numbers game, we must have some good ones!

I think I'm going to toy with the format a bit in the next few days and then release a prototype into the ether. We hit eight places so I can tweak and toil a bit.

Cheers for the input mate, massively appreciated.
  • Liking the sounds of this.. Akin to the 'Lonely Planet' guides I'm thinking.. 'Lonely Jed' ? (pretty poor joke I've got to agree, scraping the barrel)

Along with your review(s) I'd like to see in pictures, probably from your Facebook or Flickr, the places I've got to go see before I die. The must do things in country X.. Why should I go there? What was it that you saw/did/ate that I simply have to?

Write them as you would a blog post, your personality will come out of it that way. I want to escape to the place your talking about, I want to be informed, educated and entertained.. all at the same time. You can do it Jedster.
