My Travel Guides
Right, it has been duly noted that I don’t really talk about my experiences travelling around the world. I should. It was brilliant.

I was looking through the BeamItDown collection of iPod Touch/iPhone books the other day when I stumbled across something really interesting, Franklin D. Roosevelt’s ‘Fireside Chats’. Between 1933 and 1944 (the Great Depression) Roosevelt used to broadcast fireside chats that addressed a wide variety of topics. There were 29 chats in all and they ranged [...]
After a very insightful conversation with James Whatley about how to rescue a community, I’ve seen the light.
So Litman (maybe the nickname will catch on, who knows) has tagged me to announce my Youniverse.
2008 brought with it some wholesale changes for me, so I’ve decided to summarise my media consumption changes!
With 2008 practically over (albeit by nine days) I thought I’d have a quick recap on my phenomenal year. I’m not going to bore you all with self-aggrandising but I just wanted to share my happiness and thankfulness for my 2008. This year has been a year for new frontiers, both at work and at [...]
While the echochamber bangs on about convincing clients of social media’s worth and value, there’s been a quiet revolution going on. Consumers already get social media, they get it because they’re preprogrammed to participate in communities and the sense of community is on our televisions right now. Reality TV is community powered.
Some of you may have noticed the Wolfstar team twittering and blogging about our Christmas message recently – there’s a video after the jump!
Ged Carroll has just tagged me in his holiday reading list over at Renaissance Chambara (and I’ve finally just clicked about the title of his blog too…!) to disclose my reading list for the festive period – quite worryingly I’ve just put my order into Amazon as today is the final day for cheap delivery [...]
There used to be a stigma attached to the term ‘Personal Branding’, it was always seen as one of those overly twee sayings that suggested that you worked in a ‘dahling industry’ and drank champagne with your Weetos but things have changed – what/how/why is personal branding today?
This is a QR for my blog – which you obviously don’t need as you’re already here! This is a QR for my mobile number – which you’ll probably only want to send me abusive text messages! So, what is a QR code? QR stands for Quick Response and it’s been around for ages now [...]
I just thought I’d mention some of the updates that I’ve been making to my blog. First of all, if you’ve noticed any changes then you must have come back after your first visit – thank you! Secondly, I’ve made the changes to make the blog easier to navigate, less cloggy and give a bit [...]
I was trawling through my feeds this morning when I came across Rebecca Caddy’s latest post ‘Understanding Social Media’. Which asks some excellent questions that many people in the echo chamber tend to forget are important. These are questions that prospective clients will ask and it’s important for social media and PR types to have [...]
I’ve been tagged by Becky McMichael (whose blog has had a lovely new redesign) for Ged Carroll’s fantastic ‘29 not-very-technical things that every PR person should know‘ meme. The meme was born out of the post ‘25 Not-Very-Technical Things Journalists Should Understand in 2008‘ and has now (including my rather stretched ideas) reached 50 not-very-technical [...]
